Postmark Society: Bringin' Sexy Mail Back

I am beyond excited for today. Over the past few months I've kept quiet about an amazing project while I worked with Kory Woodard and Kate from Striped Cat Studio. Buckle your seats bedsidesigners, you're in for some awesomeness.

It seems like there's a real push for going back to basics. Sometimes I crave more of a personal touch. Believe me, I LOVE blogging, but I LOVE receiving letters. Sometimes finding the time to get some stamps, drop them off in a blue bin on the corner of the street and make it home in time to cook dinner seems like a daunting task. But so did blogging before I started. I find myself making excuses to sit down and write our a sweet card to a friend...no more.  Postmark Society is about to change up the game.

Look around you. Everywhere you turn there’s someone you’ve met and connected with in the blogger world. You know them through tweets, posts and pictures, but don’t you want to know a little bit more about what they love and where they find inspiration (besides pinterest)? Maybe you want to help encourage them to keep doing what they love...or maybe you're feeling burnt out and need a little TLC?

Postmark Society or P.S. - is a pen pal group for bloggers created by bloggers. Can I get a wooooo?! If you love sending and receiving thoughtful notes, making new friends, and growing your personal blog community, then P.S. is perfect for you. We’re here to connect you to your next best friend (or maybe even contributor). Plus we hope getting back into the swing of sending out mail will spark an interest in sending mail out to all your favorite friends.

How to participate:

We teamed up with Postable - an awesome resource for collecting and storing addresses. I discovered them last year and use this as my personal address book. I LOVE how user friendly it is. Head on over to our Postable address book and enter your contact details - it’s as easy as 1-2-3. We’ll need to have your mailing address & email [and if you want to include your blog url in the "notes" section please do!] so please make sure to include these items. If you live outside of the U.S. please feel free to sign up for the Postmark Society. We will do our best to match you up with another international blogger.

On May 15 we will email you with the your pen pal BFF! If you want to share this with your blogpals make sure you use the hashtag #postmarksoc

But wait...we aren’t done yet!

Since the three of us are HUGE stationery fans we thought we would offer a Postmark Society starter packs for the first SIX bloggers that sign up. Yes - that’s right - we are selecting our favorite stationery items - think pens, cards, washi tape, and all kinds of swag to get you started. Retail value for each starter pack $25. This portion of the giveaway is available for U.S. residents only and is on a first come, first sign up basis. Update: The first six bloggers that signed up are now selected. Postable is sponsoring our starter packs too and we are super pumped. Sign up, participate and maybe you will win some goodies from us!

Since you'll be sending out some fancy schmancy mail you'll need to include your return address on those letters. Let me introduce you to Laurie Breaker - who creates custom stamps. I was thrilled to find out she lives in Rochester, NY - super close to Syracuse. She's totally down with P.S. and offered one of our lucky bloggers a free custom stamp!

Are you as excited as I am? Just this month I've had various bloggers email me about their passions, what excites them, and what frustrates the heck outta them. Wouldn't you love to be able to communicate with someone who might be in a similar boat - or who has been there and done that? Email is great and all but with P.S. you will have the joy of opening your mailbox and finding a precious letter from someone who is thinking of you! As someone who is obsessed with paper, mail, and creating an engaged community I am so looking forward to participating. Plus - bloggers go all out when it comes to mail! I'm dying to see all the snazziness and swag on instagram & twitter...be still my heart, be still.
