Two year ago I made the decision to start a "real" blog. I previously dabbled here and there with personal blogs but never actually focused on a topic. I also was never consistent. I began planning what my blog would be about. I started with a notebook full of ideas. This notebook was always by my bedside. I jotted random things down in it. I tried to answer the questions like; What do I want to be when I grow up? How can I use my creativity? How can I connect with my local community?
I'll be honest, when I started out I had no idea what I was doing. I had no idea how often I would write, if I would even like it, and if anyone other than Ian would read my blog.
I finally had an outlet to explore creative options, try new things, and document my progress. I always loved design as a whole, and wanted to dive in deeper to find my place. I honestly didn't think I would stick with it for as long as I have.
I was talking to a new friend the other day about my process and I began to see how I've evolved. I've crossed things off my list in that notebook, and I'm ready for a new chapter. I've narrowed my ideas down and have a clear goal in mind. With that said, I am in no way declaring that I've arrived. I want to continue to explore. I crave discovering new things. I love story-telling, and I love sharing it with all of you through the form of this blog.
Over the next few weeks I'll be in a major transition as I begin to gear up for the next stage for bedsidesign - so thanks in advance for all of your patience. I'm excited, nervous, proud, and hopeful for where this new step will take me, but also where it will take us.
