NOVEMBER'S MODERN CALLIGRAPHY WORKSHOP IN PATCHOGUE, LONG ISLAND

In November I started teaching my modern calligraphy workshops again after taking a few months off to regroup. Teaching is one of my favorite things - I love connecting with others and chatting about calligraphy. The Dusty Attic in Patchogue, New York was a creatively inspiring space to host our workshop. We had tasty pumpkin spice cupcakes by Lindz-A-Tartz and sipped on apple cider mimosas.

I took my first calligraphy class with Christie at the Dusty Attic in Patchogue, N.Y. She has a contagious smile that immediately puts you at ease. She explained things throughout the workshop and also answers any questions you may have. Both Christie and her assistant walked around to guide you and assist you throughout the workshop. I have not stopped telling my friends and relatives about the great experience!

I’ve wanted to take a calligraphy class for a long time, but couldn’t find any on Long Island. I was so thrilled when I found the Swell Anchor class. Christie gave us all the tools that we needed to get started as well as a full list of other supplies and where to find them. It was helpful and reassuring to have Christie there in person to help answer questions. Christie is a great teacher and made the different strokes and tools easy to understand. I would definitely recommend this class to everyone interested in trying out calligraphy!

The workshop is three hours long and I teach all the basics about the tools, both lowercase + uppercase letters and give a crash course on creating words. The best part? You get to take your calligraphy kit home with you so you can continue practicing. If you're interested in learning calligraphy check my workshop schedule or request your city!
