I cannot grasp that April is almost over. I've had my hands full (in a good way!) with custom orders, a new design project (more on this soon), and teaching my first 4-week beginners calligraphy course out in Utica, NY.
Before I started teaching I was extremely nervous. How would I articulate something that I'm so passionate about but do privately - only ever really explaining things to Ian when I need someone to bounce ideas off of? I've never taught a creative skill like this before.
I thought I would like it, but I was so pleasantly surprised when I LOVED it.
I was so impressed by my students. Each week they excelled, asked questions, and shared the things that they loved about learning. Don't you just love their work?
Saturday, May 3, 2014 from 12-3pm I'm hosting a Syracuse workshop - teaching the basics of modern calligraphy. If you live in the area I'd love to teach you! Reserve your spot - there's only a few left!
